about us

Old logo white left

Aiken Senior Life Services (formerly Aiken Area Council on Aging) was organized in 1961 by a dedicated group of local volunteers who thought Aiken County needed a “focal point” for information, referral and counseling for older adults and their families. Aiken Senior Life Services received its charter as a non-profit corporation from the South Carolina Secretary of State in 1971.

The organization has grown and developed over the years with guidance from a dedicated Board of Directors and support from an incredible group of volunteers from all parts of Aiken County.

Home Delivered Meals

Hot, nourishing meals are delivered around Noon, Monday through Friday to homebound clients. Volunteers make most of the deliveries from our five congregate meal sites: Main Office Aiken, Gloverville, Jackson, Wagener, and Windham House. Volunteers also utilize our satellite site in North Augusta.

We deliver two additional types of Home Delivered Meals:

Blast Frozen Meals are prepared from scratch and then blast chilled to preserve the quality and nutrients. These meals are delivered to our seniors living in more rural areas. Our seniors can heat the meal at their convenience in either a microwave or an oven. This allows our seniors to eat healthy on the days that fresh meals are not delivered. We deliver enough meals to last our clients up to two weeks.

Shelf Stable Meals are an excellent way to provide nutritious meals in a situation where a regular meal is not an option. Shelf stable meals are to be used during bad weather or other emergency meal replacements and when home delivered meals cannot be delivered. These meals do not require refrigeration and can be consumed at room temperature if needed.

Meals are available for purchase if you don't qualify for home delivery.
